2026 CHOREOGRAPHY COMPETITION


 HOW TO ENTER:

  1. Decide to enter as a solo, duo, trio or small group

  2. Start brainstorming your ideas and select a song.

  3. Start creating your dance at home and putting all your ideas together.

  4. Don’t forget to plan your costumes!

  5. Perform your entry at our Choreography Comp on March 28th at West End Dance. 

HOW DO YOU WIN?

Miss Lianne and an external teacher/dancer adjudicate the performances to offer feedback and offer prizes for the following categories, Overall Best Dance Junior & Senior, Best Solo, Best Duo/Trio, Best Group, People’s Choice Award, Most Entertaining and Best Costume. We will have a selection of fun prizes for each winner and the overall winner/s will get to perform their dance on stage at our Mid Year Showcase. We will be looking for creativity, technique and performance quality.

THE RULES:

  • Your dance must be between 1-2 minutes in length (no longer)

  • You can have up to 5 performers in your group and they must all be West End Dance students or Siblings.

  • Your music must be age appropriate and contain no explicit language.

  • The choreography must be your own combinations and not stolen from film clips or dances you have learnt at school.

  • You must be present at the Choreography Competition to be eligible for prizes.

  • Entries can be performed live or filmed and displayed on a projector.

  • You can perform any style of dance and you may mix styles together.

  • Music must be finalised by the 25th of March. Please send a link to your chosen song or email the edited track to admin@westenddance.com.au

  • Costumes and Props are allowed and encouraged but must be able to be carried on stage by the performer.
