FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is there a uniform?
There is no uniform for all adult & toddler classes. When you enrol your child to West End Dance, you will receive a free shirt which is to be worn for all modern & contemporary classes. Each ballet class will have a set colour but no set style. All uniform and shoe requirements will be clearly outlined in your enrolment pack.
is there parking at the studio?
As there is no allocated parking at West End Dance. We highly recommend walking, riding and public transport. Bus 199 stops just 100m from the studio door. The is some street parking located in neighbouring streets. Please do not park in the car spots located at the front of the studio.
can parents watch?
Parents will be invited into the studio to watch during our parent watching weeks at the end of term 1 and term 3. Parents of toddlers aged 18mth-3yrs are encouraged to participate in class, while older toddlers, will be encouraged to attend class without their parent but only as the child is ready.
How big are your Class sizes?
To ensure we are able to give your child as much attention as possible we cap our Ballet classes at 10 dancers per class and our modern classes at 15 dancers per class.
Do I need to book in advance?
Before attending any toddler or after school dance class, you must enrol as a West End Dance Member. Once you have enrolled, after school classes must be booked term by term. There is no need to book adult classes, just be sure to come nice and early for your first class so you can fill out some paper work.
West End Dance will be closed on Public Holidays. All term fees will take into account missed classes for public holidays.
do you offer discounts?
Yes! The more classes your family enrol in, the more discounts you receive and all students & seniors receive 10% off! Information regarding fees are outlined in our information booklets. You can find our booklet HERE
Throughout the year, there will be the option to perform at local community events. We will be working to hold our first annual dance concert in June 2019. We do not perform groups in Dance Eisteddfods, however if your child wishes to perform solos, private lessons & choreography can be organised.
Are your classes suitable to boys?
Absolutely yes! Ballet is not all about tu-tus and tiaras. We aim to make our classes gender neutral where possible so our boys should never feel out of place.
Do you offer exams?
We offer an annual internal ballet assessment where we ask a working professional to come and watch your dancers class to offer personalised feedback for each dancer.
We strongly believe that communication is vital to the development of your child's progress. Along with our internal assessments & parent watching week, we will use Motivae Dance App to share online feedback, photos and videos so you can be part of your child's dance journey.
